Tupac Shakur

Tupac Shakur has been described as "the greatest rapper of all time". Born on June 15, 1971, Shakur died on September 13, 1996 at the age of 25 after being fatally shot four times. On June 15, 2011, an inmate admitted to shooting Shakur.

In 1990, Shakur was a roadie and backup dancer for Digital Underground, a rap band. After rapping with the group on their song "Same Song", Shakur began pursuing an independent rapping career. His debut album, 2Pacalypse Now in 1991. His next album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., was released in 1993.

Shakur also formed a group, Thug Life, in 1993. The group's only album Thug Life: Volume 1 was released in 1994, and well-received by the public. His next three albums all reached platinum status: Me Against the World (1995), All Eyez on Me (1996), and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (1996).
