(1) To end a unit of work by releasing locks so that the database changes made by that unit of work can be perceived by other processes. This operation makes the data changes permanent. See also atomic, recoverable data set.<br />(2) To make changes permanent for a resource in order to establish a new consistent state.<br />(3) To move managed assets from a task group in a workspace to the production-ready data on the authoring server.
