Zen Boeddhisme
'n Vorm van Boeddhisme wat sy toppunt in Sjina bereik het en later in Japan, Korea en die Weste ontwikkel het; sy naam (Sjinese Ch'an, Japanese Zen) is van die Sanskrit dhyana (meditasie) afgeli. In vroeë Sjina was die sentrale leerstelling van Zen Boeddhisme meditasie eerder as die nakoming van 'n spesifieke skrif.
