Paraguaná Refinery Complex
The Paraguaná Refinery Complex is the biggest crude oil refinery complex in Venezuela. It is also considered the world's second largest refinery complex. The Paraguaná Refinery Complex was created by the fusion of Amuay Refinery, Bajo Grande Refinery and Cardón Refinery.
On 25 August 2012, three refining tanks exploded at Venezuela's biggest refinery complex, killing 48 people and injuring more than 80 people in the OPEC nation's worst ever oil accident.
