A1C
Es una prueba que mide el nivel promedio de glucosa en la sangre de una persona durante los últimos 2 a 3 meses. La hemoglobina (HEE-mo-glo-bin) es la parte de un glóbulo rojo que lleva oxígeno a las células y, a veces se une con la glucosa en el torrente sanguíneo. También se llama la hemoglobina A1C o glicosilada (Gly-KOH-SIH-lay-ted) hemoglobina, la prueba muestra la cantidad de glucosa que se adhiere a los glóbulos rojos, que es proporcional a la cantidad de glucosa en la sangre.
