The giant intergalactic bubble of gas floating in space. It's the remnant of a massive star explosion, or supernova, in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) galaxy some 400 years ago. The colorful image is captured by the Hubble Space Telescope,

Code named SNR 0509, the bubble-shaped sphere of gas is 23 light-years across and is expanding at more than 11 million km/h.
