Синодот
Средба на епископите на црковните провинција или патријаршија (или дури и од целиот свет, Е. Г., Синодот на Епископите) да се разговара за научни и пастирски потреби на Црквата. А епархиски собор е Собранието на свештениците и другите членови на верните Христови кои им помагаат на епископ од нудат совети за потребите на епархијата и со предлагање на закони за да го донесе (887, 911). Зборовите "Синодот" и "Советот" понекогаш се користат наизменично.
